BREAKING NEWS: Ted Stevens Airport closed due to bomb threat against plane

The Ted Stevens International Airport is currently closed due to a bomb threat made regarding a cargo plane coming from the U.S. heading to Asia that has been diverted to Anchorage, Jim Szczesniak, airport manager confirmed to the Anchorage Press Saturday morning.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the FAA has closed the airspace," he said. "The FBI, Airport Police and the Anchorage Police Department are handling the situation. We anticipate it being cleared up by 10 a.m."

Correction: The first version of this story reported the plane was coming from Asia.
