PALMER — Join Fireside Books and independent bookstores across the country as they celebrate Independent Bookstore Day May 2.
Fireside Books will celebrate with a book-signing (and, later a special dinner) with Haines author Heather Lende; a panel presenting tongue-in-cheek “relationship advice” with authors Deb Vanasse, Kris Farmen, Jackie Ivie, and Timothy Bateson; music by Anna Lynch and Meggie Aube; and publishing advice from Palmer author Eowyn Ivey.
Lende will sign books at 4 p.m., May 2, at Fireside Books, 720 S. Alaska St., Palmer. Her new book is titled “Find the Good: Unexpected Life Lessons from a Small-Town Obituary Writer.”
Lende also is part of a “Dinner with the Author” event at 6 p.m., May 2, at Turkey Red Restaurant, 550 S. Alaska St., Palmer.
Palmer’s own Meggie Aube also will warm up the audience with some marimba music.
Seating is limited, and advance tickets are recommended. Tickets are $25 and sold only at Fireside Books and online at bit.ly/1ENI2WZ.
