Cinema Luxe; Century 16 adds new features for patrons!

Loungers
Loungers

Luxury. It is a word that refers to extravagance and excess. It is also not something that many of us can expect in our lives as often as we would like. Cinemark Century 16 Theater is making steps to change that, and make opulence and art more accessible for everyone. As the location celebrates its 20th anniversary in Anchorage, it wants to enhance the movie-going experience for the community that has been attending for so many years.

With the new Cinemark Movie Club, subscribers can get one free ticket each month with the cost of the $8.99 subscription price. Additional tickets will also be only $8.99 apiece, and each month any unused tickets will be rolled over. Another bonus of joining is reserved seating for all shows. Even with the small fee for 3D and XD movies, members will enjoy a drastic savings over standard pricing.

Each of the sixteen theaters inside the midtown Anchorage location has been remodeled to include the new Luxury Lounger seats.

“We are thrilled to enhance the movie-going experience at Cinemark Century 16 and XD in Anchorage with upgraded Luxury Loungers,” said Bryan Jeffries, VP of Marketing for Cinemark. “The electric and heated recliners offer moviegoers a luxurious atmosphere to enjoy while seeing the upcoming blockbusters with friends and family.”

With just the push of a button each patrons seat will recline to their own preference, whether that is fully laid back, or just a little lift of the legs. You are also encouraged to bring a blanket on a cold winter night, and allow the push of a button to heat your seat. With wall-to-wall screens, and an updated sound system, the new seating was just the final touch to enhance viewing experience. Updates to the hallways, lobbies and more are also planned.

In addition to the blockbuster movies, family fare, and creepy horror films that come out each year around this time, Cinemark Century 16 and XD will continue to have it special events showing such as Fathom events, and classic movies. They are also gearing up for the return of The Metropolitan Opera’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Live in HD series this October! Without having to travel across the country to New York City, the Met Opera series will take place live on Saturdays in the comfort of Cinemark Century 16 and XD. In addition to the live events, encore presentations take place the following Wednesdays at the theater. Pricing for the Met Opera is different than standard movie tickets, but still very affordable for fans of the largest classical musical organization in North America. It is $25 for general admission for the live performances on Saturday night, and $23 for the encore performances. There are discounts available if you see three or more Operas. The fall season has many favorites available. The schedule is:
