Wasilla businessman Charlie Willis received the Western and English Sales Association’s (WESA) 2012 Top Hand Award for Industry Excellence, the equestrian and western industries’ top award for service and contributions. Top Hand Award recognizes individuals in the industry for outstanding contributions that have enhanced the strength of their communities and the equestrian industry as a whole.

Willis has owned and operated CW Tack & Western Wear with wife, Nancy, in the Mat-Su Valley for 28 years. The 1,400-square-foot-store is located at 991 S. Hermon Road in Wasilla.

“I am surprised and humbled at receiving this award,” Willis said. “We were chosen from among hundreds and hundreds of people. It makes us feel even more humble to be chosen over so many very worthy people and businesses.”
