Dancers Workshop of Wasilla presents “Tales of Far and Near” at 7 p.m., June 1-2 in the Discovery Theatre at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts in Anchorage.
“Tales of Far and Near” is the story of a young girl, Katherine, who often receives letters from her archeologist/explorer father. In his letters, he tells Katherine where he has been, what he has been searching for and what he has seen.
Each letter he sends, she reads and it unfolds into the next quarter of the show. The story ends when he makes a great discovery and tells her that he will be returning home.
The recital process began on May 21 at Dancers Workshop, with rehearsals ending May 30 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.
“Tales of Far and Near” also marks the 25th anniversary performance by Dancers Workshop of Wasilla.
