Deadline for new $2,000 scholarship is April 30

Students have until April 30 to apply for one of five $2,000 scholarships to be awarded by First Student through the Mat-Su Schools Foundation.

Applicants must:

1. Submit applications to Paul.Morley@matsuk12.us by April 30.

2. Have a current minimum GPA of 2.5.

3. Must have ridden a school bus for a minimum of three years.

4. Write an one‐page essay addressing how transportation to and from school has helped you with your education.

5. Attach two letters of recommendation from community members.

6. Attach a current transcript.

7. Read and sign the following: “I certify that the information I have provided is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. I further authorize the use of my academic information for the purposes of scholarship consideration and/or awarding. By signing below I further indicate that First Student may release my name as a scholarship recipient for the purpose of publication or announcement, unless specified otherwise in writing.”

At least one scholarship will be awarded to a student receiving special education services and who has a current IEP.
