Eagle River Market, a gathering place for all

EAGLE RIVER — The Eagle River Market is an annual summer vendor marketplace featuring a variety of wares, food trucks, and live music.

Local artist Ashley Seabolt is one of several vendors at the Eagle River Market. She sells a variety of original artwork through her small business Ashley Seabolt Originals.

“This is great. This is probably my favorite event that I’ve ever done,” Seabolt said.

The Hungry Deckhand owner, Randy Bernosky, has also enjoyed being a vendor at the Eagle River Market. He said that he’s had a lot of customers and relished the chance to hear local bands from his food truck.

“I love it,” Bernosky said. “We’ve got a pretty good response from the people that go there. We’ve had a lot of fun out there.”

Whether it’s handcrafted pieces of art, clothing, jewelry, or a hot plate of food, there’s a little something for everyone at the Eagle River Market.

“I think it’s really important. It’s a lot of visibility for small businesses,” Bernosky said.

Bernosky said that he lives in Anchorage but he plans to come to Eagle River every week to serve food at Odd Man Rush Brewing. He said that he considers it his home base since it was the first establishment he set up at. He said that he will always be grateful for their help getting their food truck off the ground.

“They gave us our first shot,”

Bernosky started his food truck in March. He said that he’s already seen a lot of public interest in this new business venture.

“I didn’t expect it to take off as quickly as it did. It’s been a busy summer,” Bernosky said.

Bernosky and vendors from across the state are gearing up for the 2022 Alaska State Fair. He said that he’s both excited and nervous about the chance to participate in the largest event in the state, a venue highly sought after by many.

“That’s a lot of food,” Bernosky said with a laugh. “We’re just really fortunate to have the opportunity.”
