PALMER — Candidates have until 4:30 p.m., Dec. 17 to drop off applications to serve on the board of directors for the Alaska State Fair.
Two seats are open on the board, and the fair’s general membership will vote to fill the seats at its annual membership meeting at 7 p.m., Feb. 21, 2013.
Qualified candidates must be state of Alaska residents, at least 18 years old and be current members of the Alaska State Fair Inc. Interested applicants can learn more about membership and become a member at alaskastatefair.org.
The board is a policy-setting group, and director responsibilities include having an understanding of the fair’s mission statement, articles of incorporation and board policy manual.
