Farmers markets open, coupons available

Alaskan residents 60 and older and whose income is at or below 185 percent of poverty level are eligible to apply for farmers market coupons through Oct. 31. Pick up applications and coupons in the administration office at Palmer Senior Services, 1132 S. Chugach St., Palmer.

Local farmers markets include:

• Houston Farmers Market at the Houston Visitor and Information building from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 3.

• Wasilla Farmers Market behind the Wasilla municipal library from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays through September.

• Friday Flings in Downtown Palmer, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays.

• Willow Farmers Market across from Newman’s Tesoro, Fridays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., June 29 to Sept. 21.
