PALMER — Alaska State Fair officials announced to its membership Thursday the final act to be added to the 2014 state fair concert line-up. Flo Rida is coming to Palmer.
Flo Rida (born Tramar Lacel Dillard) will perform at 6 p.m., Aug. 31. Tickets go on sale to the general public July 11, but Alaska State Fair members can purchase tickets a week ahead of the general public.
Reserved seats cost $75; and general seating tickets are $40. The price of the concert does not include admission to the fair.
Rapper and hip hop artist Flo Rida is known for hit songs such as “Low” (which hit No. 1 in the US for eight straight weeks in 2008), “Whistle,” “Good Feeling,” and “Right Round” (which was No. 1 for six weeks). He is known for collaborating with other artists such as Pitbull, T-Pain, Kesha and David Guetta.
Interviewed last month for a different story, fair’s marketing director, Dean Phipps said fair is a relatively small venue, but the quality of acts has been steadily improving over the years.
Other musical acts included in the 2014 concert lineup are Pentatonix, Seether, All American Rejects, Three Days Grace, and Brett Eldredge, among others.
