Popsicle announces sugar free recall

Unilever United States Inc. has issued a recall for 24-pack boxes of Popsicle brand sugar-free orange, cherry and grape flavored ice pops mistakenly containing sugar free Fudgesicle and Creamsicle ice pops, which contain milk, a known allergen.

The affected product is sold in paperboard boxes with date codes OCT0312GCD, OCT0412GCD, OCT0512GCD, OCT0612GCD and OCT0712GCD. No other Popsicle brand products are affected by this recall.

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has confirmed the distribution of these recalled products in Alaska; however, there have been no reported cases of illness.

Consumers who have purchased boxes of the above product with the affected UPC and date code are asked to immediately discontinue use of the product. Consumers may choose to retain the outer box and call (800) 896-9552, which is operational 24 hours a day, to request a replacement coupon.

Guacamole recall includes Alaska

Fresh Foods Concepts Inc. has issued a recall for dip products containing guacamole because the avocado used in the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The state Department of Environmental Conservation confirms the products have been distributed in Alaska, and there have been no reported cases of illness.

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause an uncommon but potentially fatal disease, the DEC reports.

The recalled products include:

• Fresh Food Concepts 5 Layer Dip, 454 g., 16 oz. and 32 oz.

• Delicioso 5 Layer Dip, 15 oz. and 30 oz.

• Rojo’s Ultimate 7 Layer Dip, 36 oz.

• Rojo’s Supreme 6 Layer Dip, 44 oz.

• Rojo’s 6 Layer Dip, 44 oz.

• Signature Café 6 Layer Dip 425 g., 850 g., 15 oz. and 30 oz.

Products with a date code use by date of Sept. 24, 2011, and later are made with avocado from a different source and are not involved in the recall.
