The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce (GWCC) recently held its Annual Membership Meeting Member Awards Dinner to celebrate a year of growth, achievement, and unwavering commitment to the local economy, and took time to recognize outstanding businesses and individuals who have made a significant impact in the Mat-Su.

Local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates all gathered at Everett’s as the GWCC honored 19 milestone membership anniversaries, including three distinguished members—MTA, Wasilla Area Seniors Inc., and Enstar Natural Gas—who have been part of the Chamber for 35 years. “Their long-standing dedication reflects the strength of Wasilla’s business community and the Chamber’s role in fostering economic vitality,” the GWCC said in a press release.

As the evening moved to present the 2025 Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce Member Awards, the GWCC took time to recognize and honor excellence across multiple categories, including:

• Small Business of the Year: Spunky Monkey

• Large Business of the Year: Global Federal Credit Union

• Non-Profit of the Year: LINKS Resource Center

• New Member of the Year: Revel Treks & Tours

• Outstanding Chamber Member: Jackie Kenshalo

• Chair’s Award: Destiny O'Daniel

• Bert Cottle Community Champion Award: Wasilla Police Department

“These awards recognize the businesses and individuals who go above and beyond to support our community, drive economic success, and embody the values of the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce,” said Jessica Viera, CEO of the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce. “Their dedication to innovation, service, and leadership is what makes Wasilla a thriving place to live, work, and do business.”

The Annual Membership Meeting also served as a moment to reflect on the Chamber’s progress over the past year, highlighting key initiatives that have strengthened local business advocacy, expanded networking opportunities, and supported economic development efforts across the Mat-Su Valley.

As the Chamber looks ahead, the organization remains committed to championing the success of its members and fostering a pro-business environment that ensures continued prosperity for Wasilla.
