Homegrown novelist to speak at arts council annual meeting

PALMER — “The Snow Child” author Eowyn Ivey is the guest speaker at the Palmer Arts Council 2013 annual meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Jan. 5, 2013, at Rusty’s Restaurant, 320 E Dahlia Ave., Palmer. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. A no-host wine reception begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and are available at Fireside Books or by clicking the link below.

In addition to her first novel being released in several languages and in hardcopy and paperback, Ivey recently traveled to the United Kingdom to accept the award for the UK National Book Awards International Author of the Year.

Also at the arts council’s annual meeting will be local artist Douglas Girard, whose works can be found in many national and international collections.
