Colver has promised more fish in Mat-Su rivers if he’s sent to Juneau. He is in favor of school choice and of the Knik Arm Bridge. He said he would not favor budget cuts that would lay off teachers, firefighters or police. He said the state should stop handing out expensive mandates.
A Delta Junction resident and retired NASA employee, Goode is running as a candidate with the Alaska Constitution Party; a relatively new party that is deeply fiscally conservative and believes in a Biblical underpinning to government.
She is in favor of a sustainable budget and adamantly opposed to the Common Core Curriculum federal program. She favors moving the capital out of Juneau and is a proponent of individual liberty.
The Democrat in the race, Wimmer is a lodge owner in Mendeltna, where she operates a zero-waste operation, recycling or reusing 90 percent of the business’s waste.
She said she is running to add a voice to the race in a district that is too often represented just by the conservatives.
If sent to Juneau, Wimmer would fight for subsistence hunting and fishing rights as well as ensuring marriage equality.
