Intro to AK’s new 6-star energy rating is Sept. 28

MAT-SU — The Alaska Housing Finance Corp.’s Home Energy Rebate Program is well known in Alaska, providing rebates of up to $10,000 to homeowners for upgrades that improve their home’s energy efficiency.

Now there is a new addition to the rating system — a six-star energy rating. The six-star rating means buildings can be financed to an even higher level of energy efficiency, ultimately including Net Zero Energy or even to produce a surplus of energy (NZE+).

Come hear presenter Scott Waterman discuss this new rating, how the certification and energy rating will be done and the rebates at 1 p.m., Sept. 28 at Mat-Su College.

Cost is $30 and the workshop is eligible for 4 CEUs for residential endorsement.
