Jacquelyn Ann Donoho
Jacquelyn Ann Donoho passed away at home July 10, 2021. She bravely survived breast cancer but complications ultimately took her life. Her final moments were shared by loving family and friends filled with memories, laughter, and tears.
Jackie was born in Jackson, Michigan on Nov 4, 1934, and is now reunited with her late parents Delton and Ruth Conlon; husband, Hansel Donoho; and daughter, Deborah Donoho-Brown. She is survived by her children, Daniel Donoho, Kevin Donoho, Karen Salisbury, and Brian Donoho; her sisters, Joyce Willard, Janice Binder, and Judy Murphy; step son, Milan Belic, 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
In 1970 Jackie and Hansel loaded their 5 children in a bus and followed their love of adventure to Alaska where they lived their dream, raised their children, and populated our great state with “the Donoho Clan”. Jackie’s greatest joy was outings with her family and friends. Whether it be camping on the Kenai River, set-netting on Chisik Island, hitting the casino in Vegas, yelling Bingo in Florida, touring Europe, or dancing on the cruise ship, Jackie loved life and was quick to pack her bags.
She earned her teaching degree while raising 5 children, holding a UAA secretary position and driving a school bus. After retirement she worked many years for H&R Block, and received numerous honors as a business teacher, coach, volunteer, and advisor. Through her unique teaching style and commitment to children, she was able to impact the lives of hundreds of students who fondly remember her helping them become successful in their careers and in life.
Jackie will leave a giant hole in the hearts of hundreds and will always be remembered as loving, adventurous, courageous, genuine, and the person who would “tell it like it is” without judgement.
Family and friends will celebrate her amazing life on August 21, 2021 from 3:00pm — 5:00pm at the VFW in Wasilla, Alaska.
