WASILLA — The Jazz Ambassadors of The U.S. Army Field Band will perform two free concerts Sept. 19 at Wasilla High School, 701 East Bogard Road.
The band will perform for students during the day and at a second concert for the public at 7 p.m., in the Wasilla High School Gymnasium.
The performances are free and open to the public, but tickets are required as seating is limited.
The premier touring band for the Army was formed in 1969, and each year the 19-member ensemble travels thousands of miles throughout the nation and abroad to perform. It is the first time the group has performed in Wasilla, according to a press release announcing the show.
Concerts by the Jazz Ambassadors include big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals and patriotic selections.
The concert is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.
