Learn about dogs, mushing at Wasilla museum

WASILLA — The Dorothy G. Page Museum features an exhibit called “Going to the Dogs,” which focuses on the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and celebrates dogs in general, through March 29.

The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In conjunction with this exhibit, the museum also launched a new “Wednesday Night at the Museum” program, which began this week with a presentation by Claudia Sihler from The Better Companion.

Events also are planned on Wednesday nights throughout the month from 5 to 7 p.m. at the museum.

The March 20 event is about the “History of Dog Mushing in Alaska.” And March 27, the topic is “Tools and Terminology used for Dog Mushing.”

Wednesday Night at the Museum series is free and open to the public.
