To the editor:

There is a chapter in European history that we call the Dark Age. In medieval Europe, Christianity was the state religion. If one blasphemes against biblical God, one would be excommunicated, branded, punished, and shunned.

Galileo Galilei did not commit the sin of sacrilege. All he said was,

“The earth revolves around the sun.”

But the church did not tolerate even the slightest offense to their biblical God. The scientist had to give up his freedom of speech, and kneel down before the state religion.

400 years later, we are here, in America. The framers of the Constitution were knowledgeable people. They separated the church and the state. To prevent the mishaps of the medieval churches messing with people’s freedom.

Let us draw a picture in a fictional form.

In Denver, Colorado, there once was a baker. He was a Christian. There were 100 bakeries. The city is a liberal town, so there were gay couples who can legally marry. Where? In churches. Churches in the city were liberal too.

Two men decided to marry.

99 bakers offered them to make free wedding cakes for them.

1 baker didn’t.

The two men knocked on the door of the lone dissenter. They said:

“We are going to get married. We want to buy a wedding cake.”

“Well, congratulations, gentlemen. But I can’t. I’m sorry.”

“Why?”

“I am a Christian and I cannot endorse your wedding. That violates a doctrine in bible.”

“Are you discriminating against us?”

“No, I am exercising my religion.”

“We disagree. I will see you in court.”

The rest is history.

Over the past decade or so, there has been news about florists, photographers, bakers, inn keepers. They were hauled to the court of law both in state and federal levels. The courts sided with newlywed gay couples who sued them. Courts shut down their businesses based on anti-discrimination laws.

There once was an adult film actress. She said,

“I will not do bed scenes with gay actors. I don’t want to get AIDS.”

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 70% of AIDS patients are male gays, while they constitute 2% of the population. The actress was right to be cautious.

LGBT activists did not tolerate the actress’ online comment. They bullied her online so badly thereafter, she was forced to end her life.

People. Is this America?
