Dr. Kevin Dayaratna and Dr. Roy Spencer in their article "Lighting up America--Why Chris Wright should be welcomed, not spurned" are talking about Chris Wright whom President-Elect Trump wants to appoint Secretary of Energy. They contend that Mr. Wright should not be repudiated because of his skepticism of mainstream climate science. This premise is based entirely on stating that mainstream climate scientists do not see a connection between greenhouse gas emissions from human fossil fuel burning, and severe climate disruptions. This is not accurate. There are a few outliers in climate research like Dr. Dayaratna and Dr. Spencer, who are climate change deniers, but they are in the minority, and the mainstream of serious climate related science is that there is a connection and that we would be wise to deal with it. The concerns for rising energy costs due to transitioning to alternative energy are valid and need to be addressed as well.
