The 2024 Alaska Sundown Festival takes place June 7 to June 9 at Cuddy Park in Anchorage.
Showdown Alaska hosts this annual three-day festival featuring local and visiting artists across the spectrum of genres including indie, EDM, and hip hop. The event also features art installations, food trucks, and local vendors. There will also feature free carnival rides provided by Golden Wheel Amusement.
“We've stayed committed to it being an all ages event,” Showdown Alaska Community outreach director Natalie Treadwell said. “A lot of us grew up here in Alaska and didn't have opportunities to see music when we were younger.”
Over 40 big name acts from the Lower 48 are set to perform during the 2024 event. This year's lineup includes headliners such as Diplo, Tech N9ne, Sheck Wes, The Devil Wears Prada, and Alaska's own Portugal. The Man.
“One of the big focuses of our team is bringing up all these big national acts. We know the cost to visit the Lower 48 to see those acts is increasingly high these days,” Treadwell said.
Treadwell said that the Sundown Alaska Music and Arts Festival has become a cherished tradition held in the Anchorage area that continues to grow each year. She said the Showdown Alaska team is committed to preserving the annual event for years to come.
“This is something that's here to stay… We're really looking for the long haul for this event,” Treadwell said.
