ANCHORAGE — State and federal law enforcement agencies seek the public’s help to identify a light-skinned male who robbed the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union inside the Dimond Boulevard Fred Meyer in Anchorage this morning.
The male entered the bank around 10:37 a.m., May 21, waited in line and presented a demand note to the teller, obtained an undisclosed amount of money, and fled the bank and the Fred Meyer store on foot through the northwest exit of the store, according to a press release from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The robber had light skin, a goatee, sideburns, short light brown, blonde, or red hair, and a few red blemishes on his face. He was approximately 5’ 10” to 6’ 2” tall with a stocky/large build, and he appeared to be between 23 and 33 years of age.
He was described as wearing a black Alaska Aces baseball cap with a flat brim, a black sweater with a sewn in hood, brown Carhartt pants, dark colored shoes or boots, and sunglasses worn backward behind his baseball cap.
Law enforcement also released photos from both businesses that show the alleged robber during and after the robbery.
Anyone with information about the robbery, or the identity of the robber, should contact the FBI at (907) 276-4441, or the Anchorage Police Department at (907) 786-8500.
