WASILLA — Valley Performing Arts presents “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” a cottoncandy colored, non-stop pop musical set in 1958 at the Springfield High School prom and 10 years later at the class reunion.
We meet the Wonderettes — four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts and go-go boots, with voices to match — in 1968 at the reunion.
We learn about their lives and loves accompanied by the girls performing classic pop songs from the ’50s and ’60s.
Join Kelly Anderson as Cindy Lou Huffington; Heather Whittington as Missy Miller; Karly O’Loughlin as Suzy Simpson; and Sarah Phillips as Betty Jean Reynolds as they take you on a wonderful journey of love, friendship and the pure delight of singing in four-part harmony.
Directed by Garry Forrester, “The Marvelous Wonderettes” plays March 28 to April 20 at the Fred and Sara Machetanz Theatre, 251 W. Swanson Ave., Wasilla. Tickets are $19 for adults, and students and seniors tickets cost $17.
