WILLOW — Mat-Su Amateur Radio Association’s February membership meeting is from noon to 2 p.m., Feb. 23 at the Willow Area Community Center.
As a community resource, the association is providing communications support for the Junior Iditarod Feb. 23-24.
The main hub of activity is the Willow Area Community Center. Upstairs is the Command and Control Communications Center while downstairs participants will conduct the monthly membership meeting.
It will be an abbreviated meeting with no special speaker since the bulk of membership activity will be focused on the race. Upstairs is a vivid application of HAM communications in action. Bring the kids, although not handi-accessible.
Association president Patrick Brown said he would be happy to remain downstairs and answer questions about testing and joining the club.
“As the MARA president, I wanted to extend my personal hearty invitation to all HAMs in the Valley,” he said. “If you are a HAM or considering this hobby, please come to this meeting to learn more.”
