PALMER — Mat-Su College hired Felicia Desimini on Aug. 12 as a full-time assistant professor and art coordinator for the fall term.
Desimini has more than 14 years instructional experience at the university and college level in studio art and art history courses, curricula and course development and community outreach.
As a practicing visual artist, art historian and art writer, she brings depth to her duties as professor and art coordinator. She served as co-chair for the nationally recognized Somewhat North of Boston (SNOB) Film Festival.
She will serve as an art judge at this year’s Alaska State Fair and will lend her expertise to the upcoming third annual Machetanz Art Festival scheduled for June 2013.
Desimini was awarded a doctorate in arts-based research and art criticism in March 2011 from Union Institute and University, Cincinnati, Ohio. She wrote 51 published articles for an arts and culture weekly paper, HippoPress. Her art is included in various private and corporate collections in Europe and Asia.
