Mat-Su communities make ‘best places for homeownership’ list
The consumer advocacy group NerdWallet compared 45 communities across Alaska based on three criteria — are homes available, can you afford to live there and is the city growing — and put out a list of the best places for homeownership in Alaska.
Several of the top 20 communities are located within the Mat-Su Borough, including No. 2 Willow; No. 3 Knik-Fairview; No. 10 Big Lake; No. 12 Fishhook; No. 13 Tanaina; No. 14 Butte; No. 19 Lakes; and No. 20 Gateway.
