The Mat-Su Sertoma Club is accepting grant applications for the Mat-Su Polar Plunge fundraising event Feb. 16, 2013.
Each February, the Mat-Su Sertoma Club hosts the Mat-Su Polar Plunge with huge support of local sponsors and jumpers. Last year more than $25,000 was raised to benefit two local charitable non-profit organizations.
Previous beneficiaries include the Food Pantry of Wasilla, Turn a Leaf, Wasilla Area Senior Center, Special Olympics, Mat-Su Health Center and Valley Performing Arts.
Grant applications are available at matsuplunge.org or matsuhearing.org and must be postmarked no later than Dec. 31.
Organizations can align their business by becoming a Plunge Sponsor in support of this wonderful fundraiser and jumpers are able to sign up for the “Original Valley Dip” on the Mat-Su Polar Plunge website.
Mark your calendar to take the plunge or watch this family fun event in February at the Wasilla Lake Resort off Bogard in Wasilla.
The first Saturday of each month Sertoma provides free hearing screening. Residents can stop in without an appointment at Wasilla Physical Therapy, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 3750 E. Country Field Circle, Suite A (next to Geneva Woods Pharmacy).
