Anderzen to address Palmer chamber
Tor Anderzen with HDL Engineering Consultants will be the featured speaker at the Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce meeting April 12. Pollard’s presentation is titled “Alaska’s Infrastructure Report Card.” Networking time begins at 11:45 a.m. with the program beginning at noon. Plant Materials Center seed sale starts April 19
The state Division of Agriculture’s Plant Materials Center will open its annual seed sale beginning April 19.
A list of available species and their quantities will be posted to the PMC website (http://plants.alaska.gov) on April 19.
According to the state, those interested in purchasing seed may place orders by contacting Pete Johnson at the PMC at 745-8105 or peter.johnson@alaska.gov, or by faxing a seed order to 746-1568. Seed will include grass, grain and flower.
‘Happy Hour in the Greenhouse’ set April 15
The Alaska Farmland Trust’s annual “Happy Hour in the Greenhouse” fundraiser is set for 3-6 p.m. April 15 at the VanderWeele farm, located at 11736 E. Outer Springer Loop in Palmer.
The event will feature Alaska Grown appetizers, Alaska Berries wine, craft beer from Arkose Brewery and Odd Man Rush Brewing, local cider from Double Shovel Cider Co. and live music from the Carhartt Brothers.
Both silent and live auctions are planned for gift baskets. Door prizes will be provided from Anchorage Distillery.
The cost is $50 per person and includes one drink ticket and one door prize ticket. This is a 21-and-over event.
