PALMER — The Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual meeting, at which Stacie Stigar was presented with the organization’s highest honor, The Pioneer Award. She was recognized for her long-term commitment and outstanding service to the chamber and her dedication to the community through numerous volunteer activities throughout the years.
The chamber also held its annual elections for the board of directors. David Combs and Deana Moore were re-elected to their seats on the board. DanaLyn Dalrymple was also elected to fill the seat of longtime volunteer Jaccie Gaines.
Pamela J. Stephen turned over the presidency to Jessica Thompson. Jessica was born and raised in Palmer. Her great-grandparents came to the Matanuska Valley in 1935 and she loves being surrounded by lots of family and the small-town feel Palmer maintains. She has been married for two years and has an 8-month-old baby boy, Jaxon.
She earned an Associate’s Degree in Small Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Alaska Anchorage while working at Matanuska Telephone Association.
