PALMER — The city’s newest business — Rent-A-Geek — opened March 28 at the corner of Arctic Avenue and Alaska Street in Palmer.
Co-owner Jamie Hushower has been providing IT services in Anchorage and the Valley for more than 14 years. Hushower said he has decided to expand into retail and counterwork. He provides complete service, including networking and security, but doesn’t ignore folks with common computer or Internet problems.
Hushower also lives here with his wife and children, Carol, Tobin and Jesse. If you don’t know him, you probably have met his kids.
Chamber of Commerce and city officials turned out in force, including Mayor DeLena Johnson, Councilperson Linda Combs, City Manager Joe Hannan and Ralph Renzi, executive director of the chamber.
Rent-A-Geek is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 104 E. Arctic Ave., South Suite, Palmer.
