Pharm Table, a San Antonio-based restaurant specializing in organic, local and gluten-free meals, has won “Best Patio for Brunch” in San Antonio Magazine’s Best of the City 2022 Awards.
Helmed by chef Elizabeth Johnson, who the James Beard Foundation called a “food is medicine guru,” Pharm Table promotes plant-forward comfort foods while eliminating inflammatory ingredients. Johnson developed the recipes for her restaurant after years of research into the ayurvedic tradition.
Though health is a foundation of the restaurant’s mission, Johnson also believes food should be delicious and fun. She’s influenced by both international cuisine and, as a native San Antonian, the region’s heritage foods.
The award-winning brunch features dishes such as golden milk granola, avocado blueberry collard bowls and pancakes with Asian pear chutney. According to a recent Instagram post, each brunch reservation will include a free ginger meal starter of house-pickled ginger, lime juice, turmeric, raw local honey, Himalayan salt and fresh herbs.
Chef Johnson shared some of her favorite recipes with Feast and Field (including a non-alcoholic tereré, plant-based versions of ceviche and poke bowls, and chicken marabella) in our grapefruit issue.
