Turn-A-leaf thrift store theft
Wasilla Police officers continue their investigation into the theft of an estimated $1,000 in jewelry from the turn-A-leaf thrift store on North Yenlo Street. Officers were called to the scene Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29. Employees reported a locked, glass, jewelry case containing the jewelry was stolen. Employees described the glass case as 12”x12”x20” and told police a male picked it up and carried it off the premises. turn-A-leaf is a local, non-profit thrift store serving The Valley for more than 60 years assisting people in starting a new phase in life.

Oct. 31, 3:57 p.m., mile 7 Knik-Goose Bay (KGB) Road. Troopers charged 32-year old Kellby McKenzie of Wasilla with disorderly conduct. According to reports, police responded to a call of a male throwing rocks at passing motorists. Upon arriving, troopers allege McKenzie threw a steel pipe at their vehicle. He was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released.
Nov. 1, 3:09 p.m., Willow. Troopers arrested 31-year old Brandi Munoz of Willow on an outstanding Governor’s, extraditable warrant after conducting a traffic stop. According to reports, police stopped the vehicle for an expired registration. Troopers recognized Munoz, a passenger in the vehicle. She was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
Nov. 3, 1:50 a.m. Parks Highway, Wasilla. After conducting a traffic stop, troopers arrested 32-year old Glennallen Resident Daniel Nelson. According to police, Nelson had two outstanding warrants--theft, and driving while license revoked, in Anchorage. He was arrested and turned over to Anchorage Police Department for remand into Anchorage Correctional Facility.
