An Eagle River man faces multiple charges following several Dec. 8 burglaries on South Paddock Drive in Wasilla.
Alaska State Troopers arrested 46-year old Daniel Martin on a total of nine felony and misdemeanors counts stemming from his alleged involvement into several residential sheds in the area. According to reports, police were made aware that the vehicle suspected to be involved in the incident left. Troopers stated they attempted to stop it near South Abby Boulevard and Fairview Loop.
Police state after a pursuit, the vehicle was disabled on an ATV trail and the driver, later identified as Martin, ran on foot. Troopers and officers from Wasilla Police Department eventually tracked him to a shed approximately two miles from the vehicle. According to reports, Martin allegedly entered and broke into sheds on two properties, stealing various items from each.
He was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree theft, two counts of first-degree criminal trespass, two counts of fifth-degree criminal mischief and one count of felony eluding. He was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $10,000 plus a court-appointed third party (CATP). The vehicle was impounded.
A 30-year old Homer man and a 55-year old Anchorage woman were arrested by Alaska State Troopers (AST) after leading police on a vehicle and foot pursuit early Friday morning on Glenn Highway near mile 32 In Palmer.
Timothy Igou was arrested on felony eluding, first-degree vehicle theft, second-degree vehicle theft, and third-degree misconduct involving weapons; and Patti Barr was arrested on first-degree hindering prosecution and violating conditions of release from an unrelated criminal case. Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, troopers were notified of a stolen vehicle being driven northbound on the highway. Police found the 2004 F250 pickup and trailer heading toward Palmer and initiated a traffic stop near Matanuska Road. Police report they initially stopped the truck but the occupants failed to comply with verbal commands.
Troopers stated the vehicle then sped away in a reckless manner, spilling items out of the bed and trailer. After a vehicle pursuit, the driver allegedly fled on foot into nearby woods. After a lengthy foot pursuit, and with assistance from Palmer Police Department officers, Igou was arrested. Troopers said Barr allegedly attempted to assist Igou by trying to deceive police.
Igou was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on bail of $10,000 cash and court-appointed third party (CATP). Barr was remanded with bail of $1,500 plus CATP.
