Raffle supports Engine No. 557 restoration

WASILLA — The Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry is selling raffle tickets for a day charter on the Alaska Railroad’s private car “Denali” to benefit the Engine 557 Restoration Co. Tickets are $100 and only 150 tickets will be sold.

First prize is a charter of the private car valued at $10,000. The private car seats 16 people and will be coupled to the rear of the Coastal Classic train from Anchorage to Seward and back.

Second prize is six round-trip tickets on the Alaska Railroad between Anchorage and Fairbanks, and two complimentary rooms at Chena Hot Springs Resort.

Third prize is a 2014 Alaska Railroad print by artist Ray Gamradt. Winners will be drawn Dec. 31 at the 557 Engine House in Wasilla and people need not be present to win.

Make checks payable to: The Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry or just MATI. In the notes section insert “557 Raffle permit No. 707.” Please include a complete mailing address and daytime phone number. Mail checks to: 557/MATI, P.O. Box 875460, Wasilla, AK 99687-5360.
