Without delving into root causes, shelter staff says it’s always hard to get black cats adopted. Maybe superstition is playing a role. Maybe it’s as simple as aesthetics — there are a lot of black cats out there. Cats of other hues might stand out more. At any rate, if you don’t mind the color of her hair, Baby could be the cat for you. She’s 2 years old and very friendly. She’s been a shelter resident since Feb. 22. She hasn’t been spayed or had other work done so her adoption fee would be $104.50.
