MAT-SU — You may have noticed teams across the Valley are having fundraisers for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.
Why should you support this effort? Because the American Cancer Society is saving lives, creating a world with more birthdays. As the second largest funder of cancer research, the American Cancer Society funded 47 Nobel Prize laureates. It’s the definitive voice in updated cancer education on the web at cancer.org or 24/7 hotline 1-800-ACS-5432.
It fights for laws to protect cancer patients in Washington, D.C., and Juneau, and locally as well, such as Smoke-Free Palmer. Last year, ACS provided 497 free services to 129 Mat-Su patients and caregivers through rides to treatment, help with airfare and lodging and look good, feel better and reach to recovery.
