Sharon Sue Sears Russell
A longtime Alaskan educator passed away Feb 26, 2020 at the age of 77.
Sharon was born to Sterling Stanton Sears & Betsy E Sears on March 6, 1942 in Laramie, Wyoming. They came to Juneau, Alaska when she was a young girl. Her parents were also educators in Alaska and teaching became a passion for Sharon. She earned her teaching credentials at Southern Oregon College in 1965. She taught in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District, starting in 1969 until her passing.
Sharon is survived by her children, son Todd (Stephanie); daughter Tonya; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Stan Sears and his family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sterling (Bob) Bobby Sears.
There will be a closed casket Funeral Service on March 14th at 1pm at Palmer High School. Viewing from 12:00-12:30 pm. immediately following the service, there will be a potluck. All are welcome.
