PALMER — The Friday at the Farm event series continues with a new slate of classes underway.
Classes in the series include:
• “Eating Smart — Being Active” will offer six interactive lessons to help people adopt more healthy lifestyle skills complete with handouts, recipes, exercise and cooking demonstrations from 6 to 7:30 p.m., April 23 to May 28 at the Matanuska Experiment Farm in the Cooperative Extension Service Building, 1509 S. Georgeson Dr., Palmer. The series is funded and offered by the UAF Cooperative Extension Service. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. • Mat-Su/Copper River Cooperative Extension Service will host a “Small Ruminant Health Seminar” on sheep and goat health from 1 to 5 p.m., April 25 in Room 208, Kerttula Hall, UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm. Dr. Lisa Lunn, Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine and a Veterinary Extension Specialist with UAF Cooperative Extension Service, will share her expertise on such topics as how to identify sick livestock, proper medication techniques, parasite management, and more. • Registration deadline is April 15 for a birch tree tapping class offered from 1 to 3 p.m., April 18 at the UAF Matanuska Experiment Farm, 1509 S. Georgeson Dr. Palmer.
