PALMER — Entertainers confirmed for the 2015 Alaska State Fair Concert Series were announced during the Alaska State Fair’s meeting Feb. 17 at Raven Hall on the fairgrounds.
Tickets for the first five acts go on sale at 10 a.m., today.
Confirmed for 2015 are Blood Sweat and Tears on Aug. 27; Daughtry on Aug. 29; David Nail on Sept. 1; Lee Brice on Sept. 5; and Kacey Musgraves on Sept. 7.
At the annual meeting members also chose to retain two incumbents on the fair’s seven-member board of directors.
John Harkey and Richard Stryken, both of Palmer, were elected to another three-year terms on the board to continue their service during the Alaska State Fair’s 2015 annual membership meeting.
A total of 144 fair members voted by mail, and 69 voted in person at the annual meeting.
Following the meeting, the board members met to elect directors. The new directors are Carol Kenley, president; Stephen Brown, vice president; Kristy Bernier, secretary; and Danny Consenstein, treasurer.
The 2015 scholarship amount of $4,250, which will be awarded to five Alaska students this spring, also was announced at the meeting. Alaska juniors and seniors are invited to apply by 4:30 p.m., April 15.
