ANCHORAGE— The Anchorage Concert Association recently announced the 2024/2025 season lineup of shows.
According to a press release, all shows take place at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts and tickets are currently on sale through subscription.
There’s a wide variety of shows scheduled over the coming year.
St. Paul & The Broken Bones is set to perform at the Atwood Concert Hall Sept. 21. The Alabama based band is known for their blend of rock, soul, R&B, psychedelia, and funk. They’ve performed with big names in the music industry such as Elton John and The Rolling Stones, and NPR called them “one of the nation’s best live bands.”
EMERGE125 is set to perform at the Discovery Theatre Sept. 28. This dance group is known for taking inspiration from “everything from visual art to the neuroscience of synchronized heartbeats.”
Skerryvore is set to perform at the Atwood Concert Hall Oct. 4. This Scottish band has headlined music festivals across the globe with their unique blend of folk, rock, and Americana with booming bagpipes and drums.
The Capitol Fools are set to perform at the Atwood Concert Hall Oct. 5. This musical political satire show offers humorous song parodies and silly musings over America's political landscape.
Choir! Choir! Choir! is coming to the Discovery Theatre Oct. 11. This chair's concerts have been described as “epic” and “unconventional” and function as an open structure format where audience members are invited to participate.
Pamyua is set to perform at the Discovery Theatre Oct. 16. Pamyua is an Alaskan Inuit group that showcases their culture through music and dance performances that celebrates and shares Indigenous knowledge and history through traditional melodies reinterpreted with contemporary vocalization and instrumentation. Their high energy performances blend traditional Yup’ik and Inuit drum/dance melodies and with contemporary R&B and soul music, which is often referred to as “tribal funk” or “Inuit Soul.”
Waipuna is set to perform at the Discovery Theatre Nov. 1. This popular Hawaiian band is known for blending “powerful musicianship, beautiful harmonies, and a passion for their island home with an upbeat delivery.”
“Potted Potter” is coming to the Discovery Theatre Nov. 7 to Nov. 10. The unauthorized “Harry Potter” parody has been performed around the world.
Sammy Miller and The Congregation is set to perform at the Discovery Theatre Nov. 15. Grammy-nominated drummer Sammy Miller leads The Congregation to take audiences on a musical journey covering a century of jazz “from its soulful New Orleans beginnings to the dazzling Roaring Twenties.”
The Nutcracker is returning to the Atwood Concert Hall Nov. 24 to Nov. 26. This iconic ballet has come to Anchorage for over 30 years and been described as way to remind everyone to “dream bigger, leap higher, and experience the wonder of being a kid again.”
The Portland Cello Project is set to return to the Discovery Theatre for the third year in a row with the Ugly Sweater Holiday Show Dec. 6 and Dec. 7.
International Guitar Night is set to perform at the Discovery Theatre Jan. 24 and Jan. 25. This traveling guitar festival features solos, duets, and quartets.
The Steep Canyon Rangers are set to perform at the Atwood Concert Hall Jan. 18, 2025. This Grammy award winning band is known for incorporating Americana, country, and folk.
Broadway’s Next Hit Musical is coming to the Discovery Theatre Jan. 31, 2025. This Tony Awards winning play features improv stand up comedy and live music with no script.
The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio is set to perform jazz at the Discovery Theatre Feb. 15.
The Moth is set to feature live storytelling at the Atwood Concert Hall Feb. 20, 2025.
The Queen’s Cartoonists is set to perform at the Atwood Concert Hall Feb. 22, 2015.
Trailblazing Women of Country is set to perform at the Atwood Concert Hall March 7, 2025.
Napoleon Dynamite LIVE will be performed at the Discovery Theatre Mar. 21, 2025.
Portland-based crew Unit Souzou will perform at the Discovery Theatre March 21, 2025,
Cirque Kalabanté – Afrique en Cirque will perform at the Atwood Concert Hall March 28-29, 2025.
Puddles Pity Party will perform comedic hijinks at the Discovery Theatre April 11 and 12.
Ira Glass will be sharing lessons from his life and career at the Atwood Concert Hall May 3, 2025.
