McDonald was confirmed as the eighth Secretary of Veterans Affairs in July of 2014. Prior to joining the agency, he served as president and CEO of Proctor and Gambel.
The event is intended to be a forum during which vets can speak their mind on topics affecting them and their families. Similar meetings held last fall were well-attended, with veterans from across Alaska airing their concerns about treatment, especially within the VA health care system.
