WASILLA — Mat-Su Valley auctioneer Robert “Brad” Webb of Webb Auction and Appraisal recently completed his first year of courses at the prestigious Certified Auctioneers Institute.

The institute offers the industry’s premier training program, developed by the National Auctioneers Association for auction professionals.

The three-year program provides professional auctioneers the opportunity to earn the industry’s most respected professional designation. Auctioneers receive instruction and coursework in business management, ethics, communication, finance, strategic planning and marketing.

The National Auctioneers Association conducts the program every year in March at Indiana University in Bloomington. Candidates join auctioneers from across the world to learn from some of the nation’s most distinguished leaders in the auction industry.

As of December 2014, there were 961 Certified Auctioneers Institute designation holders in the world.

Webb Auction and Appraisal is a professional, full-service auction company that has been serving the state of Alaska since 1977. Webb, owner and auctioneer, is a third-generation auctioneer. He is a member of the National Auctioneers Association and a graduate of the Continental School of Auctioneering in Mankato, Minnesota and the Western School of Auctioneering in Montana. He also has a Graduate, Realtor Institute designation.
