MAT-SU — Alaska Veterans Motorcycle Club performed the 25th annual Byers Lake Memorial Day Run and Veterans Ceremony on May 26. The ceremony took place at the Alaska Veterans Memorial near Byers Lake, Mile 147.1, Parks Highway, and consisted of a presentation of the colors and the Fallen Soldier Tribute.

Several attendees also placed Memorial Day wreaths at the site in honor of veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Attending the ceremony were more than 300 motorcyclists and distinguished guests and visitors. Among those in attendance was U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who gave a speech, and proclamations from President Barack Obama and Gov. Sean Parnell were read.
