MAT-SU — In the Mat-Su Borough, 60 Wells Fargo team members contributed $37,000 to local nonprofits through the company’s annual Community Support Campaign.
Wells Fargo also gave out an additional $15,000 in grants to five local nonprofits, for a total of $52,000 in support to local groups.
Receiving checks were Junior Avalanche Hockey, Valley Performing Arts, Junior Iditarod, The Children’s Place and CCS Early Learning, which operates Head Start and Early Head Start programs in the Valley.
VPA received a grant of $5,000, the Avalanche received a $4,885 grant, Junior Iditarod received $1,200, The Children’s Place received $1,000 and CCS Early Learning received a $3,000 grant.
In 2011, Wells Fargo invested $1.5 million in 280 Alaska nonprofits and schools, with an additional $370,000 contributed by employees during the company’s annual Community Support Campaign.
