Woman dies in head-on collision

WASILLA — A passenger involved in the Sept. 25 two-vehicle, head-on collision has died, according to Alaska State Trooper (AST) spokesperson Megan Peters. Betty Erps, 78 of Oregon, was a passenger in a 2015 Ford Taurus driven by 88-year old Glen Erps.

Troopers report Erps was eastbound on Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Vroman Road around 2:30 p.m. when a 1990 Oldsmobile Silhouette van driven by 22-year old Brandon Wosterman of Palmer, reportedly crossed the centerline striking the Taurus. Police say all occupants of both vehicles were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.

Peters said Erps succumbed to her injuries early the following morning. A passenger in the Wosterman vehicle was airlifted to Anchorage with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
