1 dead, 1 arrested for murder

BIG LAKE — One man is dead and another is charged with second-degree murder following an altercation Friday night.

Alaska State Troopers responded to the Big Lake Tesoro at 11:05 p.m., Friday after Christopher Inman, 26, was transported there and was unresponsive, according to AST spokesman Tim DeSpain.

He said Inman was transported to the store after the man who called 911 had trouble giving medics directions to his location.

Apparently, there was some sort of disagreement between the two men — Inman and Houston resident Larry Mayo, 53, DeSpain said.

Medics pronounced Inman dead at the scene, he said. No cause of death was released. DeSpain said troopers located the scene where the altercation took place, located Mayo there, took him into custody and ultimately arrested him and charged him with one count of murder in the second degree.

“I don’t know how it all took place,” DeSpain said.

He said the Alaska Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
