MAT-SU — Nearing the one-month mark in the annual Trim to Win weight loss challenge, Fontiersman marketing and sales director Robin Minard is among the those Valley residents one-third of the way through the contest.
As the public face of Trim to Win 2011, Minard blogs about her efforts at frontiersman.com/trimtowin. Following are excerpts from her blog and reader comments.
“I had a terific workout with Jenni and the gym on Saturday morning. I had to cut it short due to another appointment, but it was still good, and my abs still feel it two days later! … I am on track with dieting. I’m now shooting for 1,000-1,200 calories a day between now and Feb. 23, when my husband and I leave for a cruise vacation. I’m focusing on eating a lot of protein and am not hungry.”
“I’m having trouble staying focused and I’m not sure why. I’d love to hear ideas anyone has on sticking with this. I have so many things to motivate me: Trim to Win, this blog (where I would rather be bragging about my weight loss), the AT&T and sports center staff who are so helpful, the fact that in 10 days I am going on a cruise. Everyting is in line — except me. Has anyone been in my shoes? What have you done to shake things up?”
Evak responds: “Find your real reason as to why you want to lose weight, not just money or a blog, but something so important it makes you really want to get it done. Then focus on that — post pics or note where you see them as a reminder to keep you motivated. Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!”
“Happy Valentine’s Day! I had a terrific workout with Jenni at the AT&T Sports Center on Saturday morning. It was hard to get up and get there when my bed was so warm and the temp outside was below zero. But I knew Jenni would be waiting for me. … I felt so good when the workout was done that I’m now super motivated to go to the gym again today, either at lunch or after work. Maybe I’ll see some of you there!
