There are now 10 COVID-19 cases in the Mat-Su Borough according to the latest numbers from the Department of Health and Social Services released Saturday.
A fifth positive case was reported in Wasilla. There are also five in Palmer. The Wasilla case was one of 11 reported Saturday. Nine of the new cases are in Anchorage, and one was reported in the Prince of Wales-Hyder census area. The state total is now at 257.
The Anchorage municipality — which also includes Chugiak, Eagle River and Girdwood — has 121 total cases, but 110 of that total are in the city of Anchorage. There are also 60 cases in Fairbanks.
An eighth death was also reported. The individual was from Fairbanks. The state is reporting 31 hospitalizations due to coronavirus. The number of recovered cases is now up to 63.
