WASILLA - The graduating class may have small, but it did not lack spirit or enthusiasm.
Fourteen graduates of Twindly Bridge Charter School received diplomas Friday night in an intimate ceremony in Wasilla High School's Little Theater.
Derrick Boyter said he was excited to be graduating, but that he would miss his school days. He said his music training, with Twindly Bridge teacher Josh Fryfogle, was among the more meaningful and memorable experiences of his schooling.
Up next for Boyter, who presented a senior slide show at Friday night's ceremony, will be a two-year mission for his Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After that, he said, he is undecided.
Not so for fellow graduate Sawyer Graber, who is off to college next year. He credited Twindly Bridge adviser Carol Austin with helping him find direction in his final years of school.
Graber was one of two students who showcased their vocal talents for the graduation audience. He sang “The Impossible Dream,” from the musical “Man of LaMancha.” Arianne McCullough performed the song “When You Believe.”
