PALMER — A local high school student has been indicted by a grand jury on sexual assault charges.
Kaiden Jimenez, 17, has been charged with one count of attempted sexual assault in the first degree, two counts of sexual assault in the second degree and one count of assault in the third degree, according to an online dispatch published Wednesday evening by the Alaska State Troopers.
According to troopers, an investigation revealed that Jimenez assaulted and strangled a girl at a local high school. According to online court documents, Jan. 22 was the date of offense. All of the counts Jimenez is facing are felonies.
The indictment came on Feb. 14. Jimenez was arrested on Wednesday after a warrant was issued. He was placed in Mat-Su Pretrial. Bail was set at $25,000 cash appearance bond and $75,000 cash performance bond.
